You may get snow in the higher elevations of the San Gabriels. If you want
to hike the San Garbiels I would not suggest the PCT. instead do the lower
sections near LA. A 15 hike, requiring a car shuttle, is the Gabrilino Trail
from Santa Anita Canyon, past Sturdavant Falls, over Newcomb Saddle and up
the West Fork, San Grabriel River to Red Box Saddle.
