[pct-l] Diabetes Hiking

I just got off a 5 day/50 mile hike in the Mt. Whitney region. I am a Type
II diabetic. Not a big deal, but I loose my appetite when I hike in high
country. I have to plan my food for what I will REALLY eat and not just for
nutrition and variety. This year I used an Ebbits fuel tablet stove only for
Jiffy Pop. Also, an item of interest is that I wore Teva Wraptor running
sandals for the whole trip. They worked fine and were very comfortable with
SuperFeet inserts. The Space Blanket covered umbrella worked fine too to
keep the sun off me. My pack was not beefy enough to give a good ride, so I
have ordered a Vortex STX pack with some custom features. They start making
it Monday. Cheers, Switchback
