The best fuel is denatured alcohol, sold by the quart or gallon at most
hardware stores in the paint section (used as a cleanup solvent).
Rubbing alcohol doesn't work so good because it's got a lot of water in it,
but in a pinch, you can use it. Another alternative is alcohol-based
gasoline dryer (HEET, etc.), though I'm leary of that myself because I don't
know what other sorts of chemicals might be in it. I suppose Everclear
would work in an emergency, but I've never tried it.
