[pct-l] Re: pct-l-digest V1 #1149/blisters

Scott -- A few suggestions to piuck and choose from -- hopefully some
combination will help.

- Wear a thicker sock on the smaller foot
- Wear an insert such as Superfeet (keeps the foot in position) on the
smaller foot.
- Try the new Teflon socks called "Blisterguard." Dan used them in Florida,
which was very hot (90s all the time) and says they are very comfortable
with good moisture transfer. They are designed to be worn without liners.
Downside: They only lasted 200 miles. For him, that's equivalent to a Thorlo.
He's real heavy on socks and shoes.
- If you know that part of your foot is often a blister zone, put moleskin on
it before you start hiking.
- Stop the second you feel the slighest twinge to treat the problem - don't
wait till it actually hurts. Listen to it when it just whispers!
- I use Second Skin for blister treatment with athletic tape, which seems to
hold it in place better than the tape second skin comes with. You can also
put moleskin over second skin. The trick with second skin is to make sure
it's securely covered on all sides with tape so it can't ooze out.

Hope at least one of these ideas helps!
