[pct-l] elevation gain/loss on AT

Someone asked about elevation gain/loss on AT: The AT has 470,000 feet of it.
(According to ATC -- I called them to get this stat for an article I once
wrote.) The PCT is 500 miles longer; if it indeed has 300,000 -- well, that
tells the tale doesn't it? Having hiked both, those numbers don't surprise
me.
