Re: [pct-l] BOUNCE pct-l@backcountry.net: Non-member submission from [Larry Hillberg <lights_out_larry@yahoo.com>] (fwd)

Larry- I think it is easier to start a long distance hike after running
a marathon than running after hiking. Right after I finished my hike
last summer I went into training for a December marathon. My first three
runs of 5, 7, and 9 miles were really hard on my knees. They were still
pretty trashed from the hike, and I have healthy knees. In the future I
will take a few weeks of light walking before that much running.
On the other hand, I think if you didn't run the ten days between your
marathon and the hike...maybe walked a mile a day...you will be ready to
start a long distance hike.
