Two possiblities:

(1) Put them in a plastic bag and THEN take them in your sleeping bag.

(2) Put them in a plastic bag and use them (maybe with some fleece on top) as
a pillow.

I think I got the first out of "Mountaineering, Freedom of the Hills" but I'm
not sure.
