Re: [pct-l] Yosemite Plans

First off, Happy New Years!!!

Secondly, I would like to say that my hike from Tenaya Lake (Toulomne) to
the Yosemite valley was spectacular!!! We started our hike a little late
in the day (4:30 PM) so we only got a few hours in before setting up camp.
We finally stopped at about 9 PM. This was all snow hiking with about
12-18 inches on snow. The next morning we started right up again (9 AM)
heading towards Clouds Rest. As soon as we got up on top of there it was
very clear we I went on this hike. Not to say I hadn't realized it
earlier. The view was great. We made it down to the valley by about 5
PM.

After spending one night (New years) at Camp 4 and doing a little
bouldering during the day, we decided to make our way back to the Bay
Area. The final decision to head back was when the snow started to come
down. This was at about 6:30 PM. I did see a sign posted stating that
Tioga Pass was closed yet again. It started down enough that chains or 4
whell drive were required.

I should have the pictures and everything on my web site by the end of the
week.

Welcome to the year 2000!!!
