[ft-l] NOTICE TO HIKERS

I received this information from Pamela Hale today concerning
Bull Creek. You might get this information twice; once from the new
list and once from the old list.

>NOTICE TO HIKERS: Bull Creek, Section 7E
>
>Bull Creek is now open again.
>
>Approximately 7,000 acres were burned during the recent fires. All burned
areas
>are south of Cross Road. Trail north of Cross Road is usable and in good
shape.
>At the moment, water level is very low. NO FIRES are permitted at this
time.
>
>Recommend that the trail south of Cross Road be avoided for the time being,
>until Section Leaders complete a survey of damages and restore trail
markings,
>etc. If you do wish to explore the affected area, please take along a map
and
>compass and report any findings to the Section Leaders (Joe & Pam Hale,
>407/725-3345).
>
>Little Scrub campsite was burned but is usable, for the time being, but
please
>use extreme caution. Almost all of the trees at the site were burned and
are
>dead-- long-term danger will be from falling trunks as they age and rot.
Pump
>was untouched and is functioning. NO FIRES.
>
>Billy Lake area was completely consumed. Please avoid; allow time for
nature to
>take its course to restore the area.
