Re: [ft-l] Florida Trail thru-hikers

A motion have been made and passed at the last FTA Board of Directors meeting 
approving a branch trail northward from around Holt in Santa Rosa County to 
the Alabama line.  This trail is nearly complete and stretches from 
Blackwater State Park to within only a few miles of the state line.  The 
Alabama Trail and the Georgia Trail Associations are constructing the Pinhoti 
Trail which connects with the AT in Georgia, runs westward into Alabama and 
them southward through the Talladega National Forrest to a point west 
southwest of Birmingham.  There are no plans to pursue a trail south through 
Georgia.  Although this would be the shortest route, getting around Atlanta 
would be a formidable task
