[cdt-l] gps waypoints & TOPO USA

If you are talking about the Westcliff New Mexico CDT guide I have a word o=
f warning. Most of the waypoints are pretty close, but some of the waypoint=
s are not accurate. I remember one in particular that was supposed to be a =
3-way road junction south of Separ. It was far enough off we couldn't see a=
ny roads. After that I wasn't relying on them as much and didn't pay attent=
ion if they were off.

Mexico books on the CDT critical waypoints are available
for manual input.

On another note, has anyone ever used TOPO USA. I have only used it so far
to verify waypoints that I have collected. These seem to plot correctly. I
have yet to use it to provide waypoints along a selected route and then go
out and use them.

Subject: [cdt-l] gps waypoints

I am considering buying a GPS unit to use on sections of the CDT trail and
already have seen a friends copy of MapSend Topo software.

Showing a bit of ignorance on the technology.... is there somewhere I can
download the waypoints for the CDT trail...??? I did not see the trail
shown in the software images so assume I have to enter the waypoints..????

Sorry if this seems a bit novice... just trying to decide if I want to
make
a change from the traditional compass/altimeter to a GPS.....

Thanks
