[cdt-l] map scales
Unless you plan to do a lot of cross-country, as Ted does, you really don't
need the 7 1/2 minute maps. We followed existing trails and roads for the
most part - with only occasional cross country, usually as a short cut or
because we had temporarily lost the trail. Some of the maps show the CDT
route, and some show the CDT, but in the wrong place. Usually it isn't a
problem. When you're on the ground, a way can be found, even if it's not
the one you originally intended.
