[cdt-l] (Guest Post) hello from the CDT

For what it is worth, three of us went into the Wind River Range for 4 days.
It is of interest that temperatures were in the high 80's during the day and
dropping only to about 45 or 50 at night. What was interesting was that the
Ranger at Pinedale told us that Island Lake usually remains frozen until
August, this year it is completely thawed as are the higher lakes like
Mistake and Titcomb lakes.

The Wind Rivers have plenty of water but it appears that the water elsewhere
might be in very short supply this summer and will be combined with higher
than normal temperatures. Not a good thing for thru-hiker

Best of luck to all those on the trail.

Ted
