Roy,

Can you elaborate on the motels that are now privately owned in Cuba? Flora 
Ward at the Cuban Lodge has always been extremely receptive of thru-hikers 
over the years and even maintains a photo album of past CDT hikers. BTW, 
there is no camping in town and the local police can't and don't encourage 
it due to the vagrants that hang around town. If lodging is no longer 
available in town then there's always the Circle A hostel outside of town 
slightly off of the current CDT route.
