[at-l] Poncho's

Does anyone have any advice about hiking with a poncho vs rain jacket
and types of ponchos?  I bought a campmor poncho - meant to get the
backpacking one that fits over the pack as well, and got the regular by
accident.  Anyone know any pros/cons of using the regular poncho vs the
backpacking ones w/ the rear hump for the pack?  pros/cons of the poncho
vs the jacket?

I'm starting in early March if that helps.
