My last Black Bear encounter. I came around a bend in the trail in the SNP.
As I did a big Black Bear came out of the woods about 10 feet in front of me.
HE looked at me, I looked at him. I said hello Mr. Bear, he said hello Mr.
Hiker. He then sit down in the middle of the trail. He told me about momma
bear and his two cubs. I told him that I didn't have any kids. He said that's
too bad and that he enjoyed watching his two cubs play. After about a half
hour or so, he got up and said he need to go find some berries. I told him
about a big patch of berries about a half mile back down the trail.
