I bought my fuel for less than $1 for 12 oz., often as little as
$0.39 as Methanol based gas line dryer.
I didn't simmer on my stove, I used a pot cozy. I was done with
the stove and it was put away before my Whisperlite friends had
usually added food to their pots. I was always finished with my
meal before they were - go figure.
The Trangia wil store leftover fuel in the stove as long as you
don't melt the o-ring so you don't have to measure carefully. I
used about 2oz a fuel per day for breakfast and dinner.
Your boil times look accurate.
