The manufacturers of running shoes take many things into account
(pronation, neutral or supenation; high mileage/low mileage; heel strikers;
motion control) and a good running shoe outlet can analyse your needs and
sell you the right shoe for how you run. I don't know of any hiking boot
manufacturer who takes into account such things. Lightweight, medium,
heavyweight, that's the choice. I think a custom boot is your only other
option.
