[at-l] I think I've found a route!

I think I've found a route to my parents' that I can use -- thanks to everyone, how does this one sound to you -- found it on msn's map page of all things, thanks B.Gates.

 

Hwy 76 East to SR 17 to NC to SR 69 to US 64 to US 23 to US 19 to I-40 (not my first choice, but it's the shortest and fastest, I think) to I-77.  Enter Virginia at I-81 then exit I-81 at Exit 315 to SR 7 East then onto US 340 North.  Enter West Va on US 340 Bypass East and to US 340.  Enter and exit Virginia and enter Maryland on US 15.  Turn onto I-70 then merge with I-695 and almost immediately I'm at my parents' apartment.

 

This is listed as 632 miles to be driven in 10 hrs 35 minutes.

 

Now, like a lightweight backpacker, I've got to tweek it!

 

There's construction on I-81 between the exit for US 11 No and here it crosses I-81 again at exit 87.  I got that info.

 

Is there anything else anyone knows?  I'll be using the CB to listen to the truckers or to ask for info.

 

Thanks again to everyone -- guess I'll be starting out Friday evening and spending the night on the road, anyway.

 

I think I'd rather be backpacking, but it's nice to visit the family, too.
