     A throughhiker is someone hiking through -- that means farther than me 
     -- on any particular day, week, month, season, or year. Strictly 
     speaking.
     
     Here's a funny, though. Anyone but me notice that "throughhiker" is -- 
     in general use -- used to describe someone who *aspires* to hike the 
     AT in one fell swoop? But sShouldn't they be "aspiring throughhiker"? 
     Except then, when they're done, they're no longer hiking, and can't be 
     called "throughhiker."
     
     These things keep me up knights.

And I said I would just listen for awhile---question: Not to get hung up on 
being a thru hiker but that is my goal.........are you a thru hiker if you do 
a flip flop?
