Hi from a fellow Virginia resident

VA Senators Warner & Robb,

The reason I am writing yall today is so that I can let yall know that I am
a very strong believer in property rights of landowners & I hope that yall
may be able to persuade the National Park Service to be less heavy handed
in its dealing with the Saddleback property landowners near Rangley, ME.
Hopefully the following paragraphs will further clarify my reason for
writing yall.

I am very disturbed by the fact that it seems that the NPS does not seem to
be negotiating with owners of the Saddleback tract near Rangley, ME. I have
just read the article in the Bangor News from 11/10/99:
http://www.bangornews.com/News/19991110000000Saddlebackt.html and it seems
to me that the NPS has an attitude that will eventually lead them to ask for
the use of eminent domain to acquire the property.

Since I hiked the Appalachian Trail from GA to ME in 1996 I have a special
place in my heart for the people of Maine & I hope that yall will be able to
help in this matter by helping the NPS to see that the invoking of eminent
domain is not the answer.

I appreciate your feedback on this matter.
