OKayyyyyyyyyy!
Finally got the results of the Knobstone Trail races the other
evening, and after assembling all the hand-drawn finishes from four
different distances, found out that I came in third in the 10 mile!
Woo-Hooooo!
Well, it sounded good, anyway.
My time was 01:24:42. What was the first and second place
finishers' time?
Ohhhhh, like 01:10:xx, just about TWO MILES ahead of me, that's all.
And fourth through
tenth was like 01:26:xx
through about 01:33:xx
So I was like "first among them others"....Now, I know I could have
cut 5 minutes off if I'd targeted the distance more specifically, but
*14* minutes? I DID get my eyes watering from speedy downhills, and I
bet I covered the last mile+ at a 6:00 clip (I had a lot in the bag
when I crossed the finish line), but 14 MINUTES!!! Sheesh! That would
have been fun to watch just for jaw-dropping giggles!
And the half marathon finishers came in around 01:38:xx -- my time
would have been something like 01:50:xx, given where the last loop
goes.....
Have a good one,
