Amazon and I both used the Esbit stove on our hike (800 miles). We used mail
drops for our fuel,,,but more and more stores along the trail are carrying
the tabs,,,I know Neels Gap and Damascus for sure had them. It really isn't
that expensive ,,,, we used 1/2 tab per meal,,,for the both of us,,,it is
enough to cook a Lipton meal. We used 1/4 tab for heating water to wash up
with on occasion,,,and 1/2 tab for hot water to mix with drinks. We always
had way to much fuel!!! I have enough for Y2K now!!!!! I have enough for
another thru hike! I loved the esbit,,,using the two small wind screens made
from oven liner really helped. KC
