It's the international portion of the AT they are portraying with the
mistake of not mentioning it.  I stumbled across this link not too long
ago....

Here's the link to express dismay about CNN not being
able to get the north end of the AT located correctly
at Katahdin on their map (CNN had the north end of the
AT located out into the boonies of Canada someplace):
