RE: [at-l] The Appalachian Trail CR-Rom is now available



I downloaded the demo and it looks real interesting.  Loads of customization options, you can add makers with comments that print out, interfaces with a bunch of GPS's, printed maps are readable (even if printed in B&W).  Fortunately, there are no interfaces for C*** P****'s and unfortunately none for umbrellas.  Note: try the download at an off hour time.  Their server kept dropping connect on me during afternoon and evening attempts, but 8:30 am worked the second time...is big though, 13MB.

I would hope it means you could print just profiles, or even smaller
sections and only carry what you want to carry in the way of maps
without having to cut up $100 worth of paper maps.

Not sure though - just wishing...
