The 18th Annual Gathering
Dedicated In Loving Memory of Edward Garvey (1914-1999)
Dedicated to a man whose life and spirit have encouraged and inspired so
many.  Many have learned with him, laughed with him and enjoyed his love
for life.  He will remain very close and alive in our hearts forever.

The next Gathering on the east coast will be Columbus Day weekend probably
at Shepherd College near Harpers Ferry.  You can get further information at

This year the Gathering was held on Dartmouth College campus with camping
at nearby Storrs Pond campground.  Around 375 hikers registered over the
weekend.

1700-1830 on your own
1900-2300 opening session, some speeches, introduction of all thru-hikers,
section hikers, personal stories of times with Ed Garvey over the years.
