Re: Re[2]: [at-l] Good Read

Well, I've got 'em stacked up here, taunting me because I've been too busy to
read them, trying to play catch-up with deadlines. So no capsule reviews,
folks. But my thru-hike prep reading pile includes--

Finding Our Way (A Mother's Journey With Her Son). Paula Horowitz -- Mom and
kid journey through New England, Europe, India, Nepal, and Venezuela. Walk
together across Iceland when he's six. A lady proving that kids and hiker
lifestyles aren't incompatible, kinda like Cindy Ross does.

Siddhartha. Herman Hesse. 'nuff said.

On Foot to the Golden Horn. Jason Goodwin. Walks from Poland through Eastern
Europe to Turkey. Flipped through it, looks awesome.

The Hills of Adonis-- A Journey in Lebanon. Colin Thubron. Four months of
hiking and hitching through history.

On Foot. Adam Nicolson. Collection of walking essays by a much drier Brit
than expat Bryson.

A Border of Blue. Frederick Turner. Traveling with Spring a different route--
from Key West around the Gulf of Mexico to Mexico.

A Stranger in Tibet. Scott Berry. Recounts the adventures of a wandering Zen
monk.

I own too many books (sigh).
Cheers, Navigator
