Re[2]: [at-l] direction choice summary

     DA,
     1) The single greatest thing I enjoyed about my S>N throughhike was walking
     north with spring. Outrageous.
     2) Talk is cheap, but the single greatest thing I *might* enjoy about a
second throughhike (southbound) would be the solitude. But I'm not hiking,
     either.
     3) Northbound or Southbound, I would "strongly advise" a continuous
direction. The sense of connection -- to the trail, to the landscape, to
the seasons -- is subtle, fantastic, and fragile.

Lastly, please forgive my uncharacteristic brevity. I mean what I say with
all three points, and especially 1) and 3), deeply.

Does anybody out there have any criticisms, comments, observations, advice to
the contrary, or strong objections other than the fact that this isn't the
'traditional' thru hike? If so, I'd really like to hear what they are.
