Re: [at-l] Trail Instruments Was: Music Music Music

Southern Harp carried a backpacker's guitar from Springer until somewhere in
New Hampshire. She sent it back because she was worrying about the Whites
and the 100-mile wilderness being too tough for the guitar. She and her
husband, Traveling Man, did a thru in 96 (at least I think it was 96) and
then were caretakers for a couple of years at the Blackburn Center in
Virginia. They started doing the PCT this year, but Traveling Man had some
terrible leg problems and they gave it up.

If you' ever get a chance to hear her sing (as at the 98 Gathering), you're
in for a real treat. She wrote a beautiful song about hearing Katahdin
calling her name.
