I've thought about this a lot over the past couple of years. The more I think
about it, the more that I believe that the only way for a persyn to truly
thruhike the AT is...
A Yo-Yo. (Hats off to Wildbill). I'm serious. I think that you should have to
climb every hill in both directions. Descend every hill both ways. The reason I
started thinking about this in the first place was because of a conversation I
once had while on a section hike. The other guy thought I was crazy for hiking
a section in one direction or another because that section is harder in that
direction. I thought that odd. Then I thought, "Why should I have a choice?"
Hey, I'd love to keep talking about this, as I'm sure that you'd like for me
to, but I have to cook me up some burgers before them RedSox go to beatin' on
them Damn Yankees. (I love me some beets.) Let me tell you about my next door
neighbor's grandchildren.
