[at-l] Datto's Springer Pack Contents

Thanks to those that suggested alternatives for
my Springer pack contents. 

I added new things and deleted some others and am
now at 32 lbs 2 oz with food to get from Springer
to Neels Gap and 1 liter of water. Good enough
pack weight for leaving. Will probably add more
water as the food disappears on my skipin' and a
jumpin' down to Neels Gap. Here comes Datto
Cottontail, hoppin' down the bunny trail...Hey,
who put this mountain here?

I added drawing pens and a sketch book to my pack
contents (included in the weight above). About
six years of schoolin' for drawing (including two
required nude drawing classes - they told me I
HAD to take my clothes off, I didn't know!) and
about 10,000 architectural drawings later, I
guess I should take the stuff to draw, eh? We'll
see if I feel that way after hauling it down to
Neels Gap. Ha. All I've been drawing in recent
years is network diagrams but I figure it's like
riding a bicycle. Maybe I'll practice between now
and April 2000 while I'm cooped up inside all
winter. You know, that girl across the way over
there...with this here telescope, my drawin' pad
and a telephone...whoo hoo this is gonna be a
walloping good Friday night!

What I thought was an order of 6 boxes of Esbit
fuel ended up being 6 cases. Esbit much! More was
ordered from another place too so I guess I'm
probably taking the Esbit to Springer. That saves
15 ounces over the Whisperlight setup. I wanted
to get the Esbit fuel that said, "Do Not Eat" in
bold letters on the side but alas, I got the chic
green Trioxane bars instead. Fashion statement or
faux pas?
