They're called "sausage fingers." I get 'em too. But NOT when I use Lekis. 
Seems that using the poles keeps your hands up higher than swinging them 
naturally at your sides, thus less blood pools in the fingers. You can 
achieve the same effect by clinging on to your backpack straps as you walk, 
but I think the poles provide a bit more balance. :-)
