Re: [at-l] growing feet

The feet respond to the pressures/hard use of increased foot travel
(hiking/backpacking/running) by flattening, spreading, and elongating.
It's a result of normal pronation coupled with a need for added
internal support. This can also coincide with plantar faciaitis ("PF")
and even ankle/achilles problems. Foot strengthening and consistent
leg stretching are VERY good ideas if you're noticing this.

Hello to the list,

I've been lurking for a long time. Not felt much like talking. I now
have a question that brings me out of hiding. In what manner do the
feet increase in size as one hikes long distance, and when does this
become noticeable? How do you accommodate this in shoe size???

Gloria
