Okay, the first reason is that Dr. Shoals are useless for boots or
anything that might make your feet hurt. Dr. Shoals are great if you are
eighty years old and are standing around all day, but if you're moving, they
provide none of the support you need. When you look at a pair of Superfeet,
you'll notice that they have a very thin layer of cushion and the bottom of
the heel is a rigid cup. The purpose of this is to hold the skin on your
feet in the perfect place. You have all the cushion you need already, on
your feet, but evolution and years of walking on hard concrete with wrong
shoes have allowed that padding to become virtually useless. Everyone has a
fatty pad(there is no technical term) over their heel. The heel controls all
of the other bones in your feet, including the supposed "arch" which causes
people so much pain they think. The rigid cup of the Superfeet holds that
fatty pad in place to cushion your heel and provide the support your foot
needs. The construction of the Superfeet puts less stress on the parts of
your feet that produce the most pain, like the ever famous "arch" which is
actually a tendon which is stressed by walking without your heel being
supported in the correct position. If you don't believe this fatty pad
business, poke on the bottom of your heel with a pen. Now, squeeze the sides
of the skin that cover your heel and poke on it. If you did it right, you'll
tell a difference, and that's the main reason you want Superfeet. There are
a ton of other reasons, but surely I have you convinced by now ::grin::.
Feel free to ask if there are any other questions.
