Jack Stephenson sells hiking pants (made of Nomex nylon of all things...)
that can be ordered with a full zip crotch. Sounds like just the thing!
The pants also have zips down the INSIDE of the legs, so the legs can be
unzipped and tucked into the tops. Kind of like zip off pant legs that
can't get lost. I think he calls them "convertapants."
I haven't seen a pair, so I don't know what the material is like.
Here is the blurb from Backpacker Magazines "gearfinder":
22 Hook Road
Gilford, NH 03246-6745

and accessories that are supposed to create a more
comfortable microclimate next to your skin.

from Nomex, a fire-resistant nylon.
