Hiya RED!!
I don't think the length of the hair matters.  Although someone with
such a gorgeous lush head of hair as you have may have a harder time finding
them than someone with a buzz cut.  To a tick, scalp is just very hairy skin.
About 1 in 3 of the attached ticks I've found were on my head. k.
