[at-l] They're back Part 2

I lay in the sun....skirting the edge of consciousness. Thor licked my face
with such a look of shame for failing in his duties that I thought my heart
would break. I tried to comfort him..telling him I was the one who had
failed by coming out unarmed. I was so thankful that it was me and not
Thor that had been bitten for although I would suffer long with the
toxins that were already coursing about the wound site, I well remember
what happened to Thor's sire Razzle, in our first encounter with T-REX.
Dear Razzle....may he rest in peace.

Eventually I wobbled to my knees and tried to put myself in order. With
soggy ramen weak arms I reached for the bite site to see how far the swelling
had progresses. As the adrenaline rush of the battle left me, the throbbing
began. I tried to free my wet t-shirt from my back but it would not come.
I tugged and pulled eventually casting modesty aside as I tried to pull
the shirt over my head. Then the horror hit me. THE BEAST was still
engaged. Even in death his monster mouth was still seized to my back.
Panic!!!! In my weakened condition it would take hours to get to help
and all the time this.....this ....evil incarnate would be latched to my back.
I stumbled about wildly. I headed for the woods in a desperate attempt
to seek cover. I had no strength but I HAD to put distance between me
and the meadow else the stench from the dead T-Rex would alert others
of his ilk to my locale. As the toxins took their toll my vision began to
blur and a buzzing built in my ears. I ricocheted from tree to tree, till
suddenly I had the thought to rub my back against the rough bark of the
tree until I ground the beast to pulp. Then I could remove my shirt
which was befouled with blood and hopefully get away undetected. I
flung myself against a pine but in my poisoned state I did not have the
presence of mind to inspect the tree and a stub of a branch, sharpened
by time stabbed me in my back. Pain....poison.....my blood spurting
from the wound, I hung there.

I'm still very weak.....I'll finish later
