[at-l] Hike from Davenport Gap to Hot Springs
I'm planning a section hike on the AT from Davenport Gap to Hot Springs,
N.C. and I have a few questions that I can't get from the guidebook. Normally,
I wouldn't ask and just discover the answers when I hiked, but I'm taking
a person on their first backpacking trip.
-
Is water available at the shelters on this section?
-
How "well watered" is the entire section?
-
Are there privy's at the shelters?
-
Is this section well maintained? Any overgrown areas?
-
Are there any areas with a profusion of poison ivy or stinging nettles?
-
Any possible resupply points between Davenport and Hot Springs?
-
Are there shuttle providers in the area? Will either leave car at Mt..
Momma's or Hot Springs.
-
Is there water available on Max Patch?
I would appreciate any comments on this section. Thanks.
