I did a warm-up hike this weekend on Pine Mt. trail, in  FDR State Park. For anyone in the Atlanta area getting ready for an AT hike I highly recommend this trail for a warm-up.
The 23-mile long trail has many loop trails and is pretty close to the road most of the way.
The only bad part is the heat, it was around 96 saturday when I was hiking.  I am hiking from Rockfish Gap in VA, to the James River starting on the 20th of Jun and plan on doing the 73 miles in five days. Happy hiking everyone and remember to drink plenty of water this summer !!!!!
