I think this has been discussed before...

Someone got in touch with Kodak and asked about this practice. Their
recommendation was that film canisters are not manufactured for the storing of
edible items and could leech chemicals.

I think the smaller zip locks or the small containers made specifically for use
with food would be a better choice...

OTOH, it might not matter in the big scheme of things :)
