Did you know?
1/2 cup wild rice requires 4 cups of water to fully cook?
My favorite wild rice recipe:
****************
1/2 cup wild rice (3 ounces)
2 cups water
2 chick bouillon cubes
1/4 cup peanut oil
1/8 cup dehydrated onions/scallions
1/8 cup dehydrated celery
1/8 cup dehydrated sliced mushrooms
Feeds 3 city folk or 1.5 hikers or 1 Solar Bear
If you permit the ingredients to soak for a couple of hours, you can get
away with 20 minutes of cooking, otherwise plan on fuel for 30 minutes. Add
salt to taste after the rice is cooked, otherwise it will be on the crunchy
side.
