i was day hikign today and smelled a small fire... up ahead on the trail was
two people on there first hike... with, get this, a homemade ZIP stove. one
9V battery one hobby motor a tin can fan blade (made from yup you got it a
coffee can) and two more tin cans from coffee amde the body...it was all
cut up and had a few bolt like the ones in frankensteins neck it was made
in a dorm room and tested in a parkign lot before they took it with them.
WALA a stove it born.. it was working for about five minutes while i talked
about it then the fan died... or rather the battery died... but it was
flaming quite nice... i picked it up a bit later and found it to be lighter
than my wisperlite.. needless to say i have already started making one...
it is neat. mine has less bolts and less metal already ... and it held up
a 25 pound can of bolts on the frame with out the slightes wobble. when it
is done if i can get it to work i will tell you more about it. it is qutie
neat.. i dont think i woudl ever use it but it is sure fun to make stuff
liek that. i will keep you posted.
i also tried out my new trail name "wisperlite" on them it fit well like a
glove but it had more room in the crotch area then any glove i have ever
worn. thanks felix... and sorry solarbear "spermo" the whale was a good
attempt but just not targeted in the right direction :)
