Ladies and Gentlemen and Boys and Girls of all ages. My through hike is
still almost a year away,(next April) but to get a fix that might hold me
over I have managed to conive enough time to section hike some of the trail
in August and September. AUGUST and SEPTEMBER!!!! yee gods. Or is that Oh
God? I am planning the hike from Hot Springs,to wherever, thirty (30) to
forty (40) days north. Question? What can I expect for weather, do I need my
forty (40) degree sleeping bag? Will there be Skeeters? If I recall, North
Carolina,Tennessee and Virginia are HOT and MUGGY that time of the year. But
those memories are blurred by my mis-spent youth. Question? What does <g>
mean, or stand for? Question? Just what should my wardrobe be that time of
year? Do I need a Fleece,Polar-tec Jacket for cool evenings? Anything other
than Cool Max T's, Shorts, Smartwool Socks, Rain Jacket and Pants?
Question? Five days out of Hot Springs N.C. to Erwin Tn. (my plan) Then
where would be my next re-supply point to Buy or Mail Drop? I need your
Help......Please be kind.
