Hello everyone!
My name is Grady Long, a University of Miami (OH) student, and I am working on
a summer project on people who hike the Appalachian Trail.  This summer I will
be hiking at various points along the trail and asking whoever I meet to tell
their story.  I am an inexperienced hiker with many questions, and would like
to post some of these to the list.  However I would first like to welcome all
of you to participate in my project.

I am planning to compile many of the stories I hear to give voice to the many
reasons why people would hike the Trail.  I would be delighted to involve you
in my project.  If you are interested, please contact me by email, or by a
post to the list.
