Thankyou everyone for your advice on gear & boots. I've spoken to Jeff at
Mountain Crossings at the Walasi-Yi center, and he's gonna hook me up with
everything I don't already have.

Next question: Has anyone out there had any experience, good or bad, with
kenneling your dog for the Smokies and Baxter SP. I have the tel no's for
three at the Smokies and two at Baxter, or has someone got a better
suggestion?
