Re: [at-l] Connecticut

I did the CT section in '95.

I only recall a few seriously step sections. St. Johns Ledges, the 1/2 mile
side trail to Limestone Spring Shelter, and the North side of Bear Mountain.

The footpath is generally very good. I haven't done PA, but from the
descriptions, it's much better.

In general water shouldn't be a problem, but as you said, in droughts all
bets are off. With all the road crossings, there may be alternatives to
brooks and springs if the need arises.

In terms of spectacular views per mile hiked, the Salisbury to Jug End
section can't be beat. The terrain is a bit more rugged, and I can't recall
the shelter spacing (and there's camping at Plateau, Sage's Ravine, and Bear
Brook (? something like that)). Something to consider.

I kept a fairly terse journal of my '95 hike, and it's in the Trip Reports
section of my web site. Feel free to look through it for any minor nuggets
of information it may contain.
