For Easter I received a BUCK KNIVES BUCKLITE TOOL.
I have had a LEATHERMAN PST (the original Leatherman Tool) and have used it
on many occasions and have been more than satisfied with it's performance.
I have looked at the feathures of both of these tools and have found the
both have basically the same functions. They both thave 13 tools which all
perform the specified function properly.
I have breify looked at the pros and cons of both, well what i could by
looking at the (couldn't really say much because i've never used the BUCKLITE),
and found that the most obvious pro of the BUCKLITE is the fact that the outer
handles of the pliers is the flat surface while on the leatherman the outer
surface is the folded tools. Another thing i noticed is that the philips
head screwdriver on the BUCKLITE is only a "half-screwdriver."
Some of the things that i noticed is that the BUCKLITE TOOL seems to catch
when folding and sometimes over rotates a little, i could see it bending if put
under pressure. Also there is no wire cutter / stripper on the
BUCKLITE.
The LEATHERMAN seems to be more of a closed unit when folded and seems to
keep the dirt and mud out well. When looking at the BUCKLITE it is more
opened and exposed and i could see that getting really dirty.
It seems like i left something out and it feels unorganized, but you can
figure it out and get my gist. I'd like to hear peoples input on
these two tools.
Has anyone used both of these tools? if so what have youy
noticed? Any special experiences when either tool has been extremely
helpful? Has anyone broke either of these tools? if so how?
Tell me anything about these tools, from what i see in general they are
both great.
Also i recieved an ultra lite (1 1/4 oz. and 6 1/2 inches opened) lock back
pocket knife. BUCK KNIFE 444. It seems nice, but thermoplastic
handle does not appear really strong around the hinge. Any experience with
this knife? any one broke this one?
thanx a lot everyone.
