Several of the fords in Maine are easily over 10 feet and depending on the
time of year (spring, early summer) or after a good rain, you can expect to
get wet. One guy was actually trapped at the Horseshoe Canyon Lean-to for
several days last June as he got caught in the middle of of the west and east
branch of the Piscataquis River.
