Well, there's sa fairly new one on top of PEter's MOuntain between Pearisburg
and Pine Swamp Shelter. The shelter is right off of the trail in Rice
Fields. It's over on the VA side of the ridge in the woods. Decent
shelter. Sleeps I'd say 8. Water is a little tought though, or it was
2 summers ago. It's DOWNHILL for about 1/2 mile and it's just a trickle.
Hikers/maintainers may have dug out a hollow place for a little pool by
now, I don't know. But when I was last there, it was just a trickle that
you had to use a dipper to get enough to filter. But the views there
are absolutely incredible!!!! My favorite memory of that area is the weekend
tha tI got my tent (SD meteor light). IT was Easter weekend by chance and
my friend and I hiked up. We had the shelter to ourselves, but I still
wanted to use my tent just to use it. I woke up, opened the vestibule,
watched the sun rise from my bag, fell back asleep. Very beautiful.

That may or may not be in wingfoot yet, but it's the "new" shelter in
that area that I can think of.

The Home Place. Plan your trip so they're open with you're done and
eat there. You won't be disapointed. :-)
