Hi!
Last week I hiked on the Azalea Trail in north Louisiana, and it POURED rain
all of Friday and Saturday! It wasn't cold, though--about 70 degrees. Was
snuggled and comfy in my tent Saturday afternoon, listening to the rain,
munching on gorp, and reading my book. Sunday was a gorgeous day for hiking
(and for driving home :( ). The wildflowers are starting to come out down
here--lots of violets and spring beauties. I just love spring!
To avoid a relapse of mono, I took it easy this weekend and only went on a
dayhike to the Tunica Hills Wilderness Area in southwest Mississippi. They
actually have hills there, something I don't see often in my neck o' the
woods. I went armed with my wildflower ID book and spotted more violets, lots
and lots of phlox, trillium, and wild comfrey. Flowers are just beginning to
bloom, and I can't wait to go back out there in another week or two. I just
love spring!
Have I mentioned that I love spring? Can't wait till Y2K when I will
experience this wonderful season on the AT ... 384 more days till Springer!
Nina :)
